Lent season reminded me again about my beloved parents - my deceased Tatay Chiling and Nanay Lina who’s in her 94th year of living fit physically, mentally & spiritually healthy; (and being taken care of by my younger sister Margie).



As children, our parents show to us for spiritual training their salutary practice and encouragement to pray, going to confession, give up something we enjoy, and other acts expressing repentance for Lent.
The Lent shades of my parents cover our geannhomegarden. Reading the Bible & more prayer to draw ourselves nearer to God is a spiritual discipline that we enhance. We give up other acts for self-control and we also fast having veggies & fish instead. Fasting strengthens our spirit.
Here is something to eat during the season of Lent. Sweet Corn & Vegetable Salad, Spiced Ginataan Hipon, Ginisang Ampalaya, Fried Daing na Bangus, Ginisang Mongo in Malunggay and Fried Dulong with Malunggay.
